"And from the one trusted with, much, much more will be expected." (Luke 12:48)
Do you know "To those who use well what they are
given, even more will be given."? (Mathew 25:29)
Our abilities, time, and money are the gifts of God. We are caretakers, not
owners. When we ignore, squander, or abuse what we are given, we are rebellious
and deserve to be punished. Each one's gifts are unique and need to be
responsible to use it, benefit it, and multiply it for themselves and others. We
are not supposed to compare our resources and talents with others. The watchful
and faithful will be given increased opportunities and responsibilities. The
more resources, talents, and understanding we have, the more we are required to
use them effectively. God won't hold us responsible for gifts he has not given
us, but all of us have been given enough gifts and duties to keep us busy until
Jesus returns. The only condition is, "remain in fellowship with Christ so that
when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in
shame." (1 John 2:28) Use all the talents given by God meticulously; use it to
multiply them as per God's wish.
Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827) was a German composer and pianist. He was one
of the greatest musician ever born. His name is written on the pages of history
with golden ink. He was tormented by deafness and in later life, he could not
hear his final works. In 1801, he confessed to his friends his worry of being
deaf. In 1802, he wrote a famous text which expressed his disgust at the
unfairness of life: that he, a musician becoming deaf was something he did not
want to live through. But music made him carry on. And he wrote that he knew
that he still had many other musical domains to explore, to discover, and pass
on. But he didn't commit suicide, rather knowing that his handicap was getting
worse and worse, he threw himself into his greatest works; an exceptional
sonatas for piano (notably, The Storm, Opus 31), the 2 and 3 symphonies - The
Erotica- and, of course, many more.
Find your talents. Strive to excel it. Parents, teachers and elders have the
responsibility to facilitate and create a congenial atmosphere for the children
to discover and use their talents for the benefit of themselves and for the
generations to come. Don't do anything to snuff the talents of anybody.
Jesus, give us the inner mind to find our hidden talents. Let everyone maximize and use their own talents for the benefit of humanity. Give the strength to overcome all the hurdles ahead of our journey of talent multiplication. Remove all the pride and head weight from our life and let us be always humble. All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
