Malankara World Journal Tri Centum Souvenir Edition (Issue 300)

Foreword

It is with extreme humility that we present the 300th Issue of Malankara World Journal - dubbed the Tri Centum Souvenir Edition. With twelve chapters and over 57 articles, we have over-delivered on our commitment to create a Collectors Edition with God's help. We have covered most of the important aspects of Christian Life in this edition. I want to thank all who contributed articles to this issue. Summer is a busy time for most people in North America. We greatly appreciate your support.

We are working to slowly transform MWJ to a mobile friendly format. With that in mind, you will see narrow columns that will be easier to display on small screens. (But may not look so good on conventional desktops and laptops.) Each chapter will be on separate files; so it will load faster and, hopefully, save some bandwidth. (But then printing will be a challenge compared to previous format.) So, there are tradeoffs. If you discover any bugs or have any suggestions for improvement, please let us know.

Family is our focus in Malankara World. In this issue, you will see several scholarly articles by professionals on the issues faced by our families. We hope that it will help you in your family life.

Ultimately, it all comes down to trusting God and surrendering to His Will. In my personal life, I found that when I realize I am helpless in handling a situation, God come to my aid. He never failed me. For us Christians, that is our big asset and armour. While receiving blessings from God, we also want to make sure that we should help our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who need our help. Our prayer is to make us like Jesus and let his light shine on our faces so others can see it and emulate us.

I came across the following in my collection:

Oh To Be More Like Christ

When Adoniram Judson's wife, Ann, told him that a newspaper article likened him to some of the apostles, Judson protested.

The couple was part of a group that had become known as America's first missionaries. They spent 40 years in Burma (Myanmar). A linguist as well as a preacher and church planter, Judson's Burmese Bible translation is still in use.

"I do not want to be like a Paul or any mere man," he said. "I want to be like Christ. I want to follow Him only, copy His teachings, drink in His Spirit, and place my feet in His footprints. Oh, to be more like Christ!"

"The Lord is like a strong tower; those who do right can run to him for safety."
Proverbs 18:10 NCT

Yes, I want to be like Jesus too. We should "taste" our God in our life.

I pray with Charles Wesley:

Give Me That Heart God
by Charles Wesley, 1707-1788

O for a heart to praise my God.
A heart from sin set free,
A heart that always feels Thy blood
So freely shed for me!

A heart in every though renewed,
And full of love divine;
Perfect, and right, and pure, and good,
A copy, Lord, of Thine.

On behalf of Malankara World Team, I wish you a Happy Onam (August 28, 2015) and Happy Reading. It will be 2017 when we hope to publish Issue 400 (Quad Centum Issue.) But who knows how many of us will be alive at that time!
