Foreword
We had been going through one of the busiest period of the church calendar. The Great Lent, with all its retreats, is now history. The Passion Week, with long services in church, is also history. For those in the US, the tax season is also over. What is remaining is the spring planting season and yard work, School closures for children, vacations and picnics, Vacation Bible Schools, extended vacation trips etc. Before you know it, the summer will be over too.

Fortunately, the church calendar also takes bit of breather in summer, especially after the Pentecost (June 9).

We have gone to a monthly format, instead of the weekly format. Although the total work hasn't decreased, our editorial staff can take couple of breathers during the weekends.

We never missed a deadline upto Issue 500. Unfortunately, the last two issues were published about 1-2 weeks late. This could not be helped as I was suffering from health issues. Suddenly it occurred to me that I am also getting old!! The productivity has gone down considerably. I do not want to sacrifice the quality of the Journal by rushing through the process.

In this issue, we are publishing an article written by Beena Sugathan. As we indicated in the article, it was an invited article. Beena is a classmate of my wife Shila Mathew and has published more than a dozen books by the Oxford Press. She is a well read-well traveled person and maintains a busy schedule like us. We were thrilled when she agreed to write the article about her travel to Lakshadweep. We studied these islands as union territories in India; but never seen a picture of it or read about them in our childhood. Beena's mesmerizing article is tempting to make us visit the one lakh islands. I hope that Beena will occasionally bless us with few more articles in future.

In this issue, we have picked Psalm 51 for bible study. It is the most well known psalm to us as all as our prayers begin with Psalm 51. We also have expanded the General section this month as it was limited in our previous issues.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. We wish you all a happy summer.
