New Year

His Grace Is All What We Need

by John, Dubai

The year 2015 is going away from us within few hours of time the year 2016 is coming towards us. Year may go and year may come but God is with us all the time. Ps 90

Moses prayed, "Oh Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations." In one of the songs of Jim Reeves, I heard him singing - This world is not my home, I am just passing by.

If heaven is not my home, then Lord what will I do? My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.

Our life is like a marathon race, we have to run a lot in this world. The marathon runners start with good starting but after few minutes, they become weary. What they will do? They stop in between and drink the energy drink and water kept on the side. Then they start again and many times they do this and reach the end.

This is exactly what our life is all about. We become weary in our Christian life but the grace of God is all what we need in our life to complete our race.

Even St. Paul became tired in his life but Jesus said - My grace is sufficient for you, my grace will give power in your weakness.

We get the grace of God through various spiritual services - Holy Qurbana, prayer, Bible meditation fasting etc. James wrote in his epistle God will give grace to the humble. We cannot depend on our own strength to complete the race kept before us. All what we need is HIS GRACE !

In the book of Deuteronomy God said - My eyes are upon my children from the beginning of the year till the end. Christ has promised us that He will be with us till the end of the world. He holds our future. He knows the beginning and the end. He is the Alpha and the Omega.

Before we enter 2016, we have to examine how was our Christian life in 2015 and we have to confess our shortcomings and enter the new year trusting in God and in His Grace. He is our dwelling place in all generations. His grace will give us the sufficient strength to run the race in 2016.

The Bible ends with verse in Rev 22 : 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.

Wishing all a Happy and Blessed New Year!
