“Change your hearts and stop all your sinning so sin will not bring your ruin.” (Ezekiel: 18:30)
Prosperity and peace linked with putting an end to bad habits.
Breaking any rule that has been enshrined in the scriptures will bring forth its own consequences, like no peace, ruining your life and even poverty. Sin and its impact is solely connected with the sinners' responsibility and is in no way connected to the sins of others, even parents. If you do good, you will reap the benefits and if you do bad, you will accordingly get bad results. This is the rule of nature and the rule of God. So stop your bad habits and make the change in your lives.
John 5:1 - “You are well again. Stop sinning or surely worse may happen to you.”
The moment where and when we stop committing sins, then and there itself starts functioning the process of peace and prosperity within us, our families and others around us.
John 8:11 - “Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin."
Jayan is an auto driver in his early 30’s with 2 kids stationed at Pattikad in Trichur, Kerala. I hired his auto and on the way, had a lively conversation with him. He was all smiles and full of enthusiasm. When I asked about his family, he became even more happy. He told me that he was a drunkard till 25 and his family was in a mess. There was no peace in the house and he could not even meet the basic needs of his family which included his widowed mother. There was no happiness at all in their lives. People’s advice and complaints had never helped him to do anything positive. One day he himself decided to stop drinking. That did wonders and he found himself free of that dirty habit. He now hands over his everyday savings to his mother who handles it efficiently. Now there is no dearth of money, and his home is always filled with peace and happiness. He says, "If you have the mind, you can stop drinking. No advice can help you if you are not ready to act.
Ezekiel 18:32 -“I don’t want anyone to die, says the Lord God, so change your hearts and lives so you may live.”
Jesus, we pray that everyone put an end to their wrongdoings. Let us have the compassion and pity for their bad conditions. Let the world stop sinning and see the results of peace and prosperity. We pray for the unfortunate families facing problems due to alcohol addiction. Help them put an end to their addiction and save their families. We remember Jayan and his family in our prayers. All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
