"And the God of grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." (1 Peter 5:10)
Do you believe in "live by The GRACE?"
Grace is the most refreshing word to experience. Grace and work are like the two sides of a coin. We are the clay and God is the potter, and all that we are, are the work of God. According to the grace given to us, we work and live. Pots have no right to ask the potter, why did you make me like this? Or why not to me?
God showers His grace and peace to all the deserving human beings. We are all under the grace of God. Otherwise, we would not have been here on earth. Grace and peace are multiplied by the knowledge of God. God’s power works best when we think we are weak. The grace of God is sufficient for us in our dangers and wretchedness.
An accomplice of a slave trader, John Newton (1725-1807) turned to Christ and became a clergy, when he was saved from a ship wreck - a ship used for slave trade. He understood and described the horrible life of slaves. In his life time, slavery was abolished in England. "Amazing Grace" is a song written by John Newton in remembrance of the grace he received. He was admittedly an imperfect man but he possessed a hopeful and focused spirit when he gave us all what he wrote in "Amazing Grace".
"Amazing grace! (How sweet the sound!)
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found:
Was blind, but now I see.
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!
Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The lord has promise’d good to me,
His word my hope secures:
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
Bur God, who call’d me here below.
Will be for ever mine"
Please do not forget that we live not because of our strength but because of the Grace of the Lord.
Jesus, thank you for your grace today. Let your grace follow those who are weak and poor. We pray for those who are still illegally enslaved by those more powerful than them, the weak, the poor, the uneducated and kidnapped or sold in slavery. We ask this in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
